Team Carolina to hold combine

(1/17/06) In only its second year, Team Carolina has become synonymous with the best high school lacrosse in North Carolina. In order to fairly evaluate the ability of interested candidates, Team Carolina will be holding a combine on February 4th, 2006 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte.

The Team Carolina Combine is not a try-out, but an opportunity for coaches to assess the athletic ability and lacrosse talents of 2006 candidates, This assessment, along with coaches’ recommendations and past and future evaluations will contribute to the selection process.

The combine will commence with a stretching, a warm-up, and athletic testing conducted by Velocity Sports of Charlotte. The testing period will not only allow Team Carolina to evaluate the athletic abilities of participants, but will also provide participants with statistics they can use in the college recruiting process. Players will then take part in a series of positional drills, one on one drills, and half-field situational drills under the direction of impartial coaches.

Player’s already invited to Team Carolina who have passed the verbal nomination process will not participate in the combine (listed on teamcarolinalax.com under TEAM). The combine will feature 36 of the states top underclassmen as they compete for the remaining 9 positions on the team.
